Abstract:
We demonstrate that the three-terminal quantum dot nano-device consisting of two capacitively coupled quantum dots connected to electron reservoirs in the Coulomb-blockade regime, can act as a refrigerator working in two different configurations. We analyze the transport properties of steady-state charge current and heat flow in the three-terminal quantum dot system and analytically determine the working mode and range of the refrigerator in two different configurations. Furthermore, the advantages and disadvantages of the refrigerator in two different configurations are expounded through their performance evaluations and comparisons.
