Abstract:

The Pt/lnVO(4)/TiO2 nano-crystalline photocatalyst was prepared by sol-gel method and characterized by DRS and XRD. The photocatalytic activities of the prepared samples were investigated by using photocatalytic degradation of ethylene as a model reaction in the gaseous phase under visible light irradiation (lambda > 450 nm). The results showed that the photocatalytic activities for degradation of ethylene under visible light irradiation for 'Pt/ InVO4/TiO2 catalyst were two times higher compared with catalyst Pt/TiO2 or InVO4/TiO2. As a result of the modification of Pt and coupling of InVO4 at the surface of catalyst, the band edges shifted to visible region range and the phase transition of TiO2 from anatase to rutile was suppressed.
