Abstract:
A two-dimensional solid of KSbMoO5 has been synthesized by hydrothermal methods and structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/c with a = 9.2084(7), b = 11.3155(7), c = 5.6691(3) angstrom, beta = 107.624(3)degrees, V = 562.98(6) angstrom(3), Z = 4, M-r = 336.79, D-c = 3.974 g/cm(3), F(000) = 608 and mu(MoK alpha) = 7.697 mm(-1). The final R = 0.0496 and wR = 0.1294 for 888 observed reflections with I > 2 sigma(I). The structure is built up of SbMoO5-layers, between every two of which sodium cations are located.
