Abstract:
Three mononuclear copper complexes of 9-hydroxy-9H-fluorene-9-carboxylic acid, [Cu(C14H9O3)(2)(C5H5N)(2)]. 2CH(3)OH (T), [Cu(C14HO3)(2)(C2H5OH)(H2O)]. C2H5OH . CH3OH (II) and [Cu(C14H9O3)(2)(C6H16N2)]. C2H5OH5(III), were synthesized and characterized by IR and Raman spectra. Complex I was also characterized by X-ray diffraction. The main vibration frequencies in the free 9-hydroxy-9H-fluorene-9-carboxylic acid and the three title complexes have been assigned. The COO antisymmetric and symmetric frequencies of the cr-hydroxylated acid complexes were identified in the regions 1630-1605 and 1365-1340 cm(-1) respectively. The frequency shift of hydrogen bonds in the title complexes is discussed. The copper atom in title complex I is octahedrally coordinated by four oxygen atoms and two nitrogen atoms. The molecules of title complex I are connected through hydrogen bonds, resulting in an infinite chain. The coincidence between spectra and structural characters has been discussed.
