Abstract:
In-grid wind power has been a challenging problem in power system due to its high volatility and low efficiency. The wind power acceptance must be first considered before a wind farm is planned to be built. There are many factors effecting wind power acceptance, such as wind turbine type, PCC load capacity, regional load characteristics, etc. A large amount of research show that wind farms have significant influence on the local grid voltage level, so the primary factor of wind power acceptance is voltage normally. In the study, the impact of power system operation mode on wind power acceptance is discussed by analyzing the voltage variation. The combination of power flow calculation and engineering method is utilized to evaluate the wind power acceptance. The power flow and engineering calculation indicate that higher supply voltage and lower load lead to higher acceptance of wind power.
