Abstract:

The objective of this paper is to present an overview of the design concepts of the Xiazhongba Jialingjiang bridge, which is a two -span (each is 160 meters) concrete filled steel tube tied arch bridge. The tie bars placed in the deck system will be tensioned in several steps to resist the horizontal force induced by loads from several key construction stages. This bridge will be built to meet the transportation requirements by the local authorities.
