Abstract:

Based on the optimum design of mix proportion for self-compacting concrete (denoted as SCC), the systematic research of mechanical properties of reinforced SCC structures were carried out on the following aspects: anchorage bonding, flexure, and shear properties of flexure members,seismic resistance of frame structures. The experimental program includes pull-out tests on bonding strength of 62 members,flexure and shear tests of 12 beams,and seismic resistance tests of 4 frames using MTS loading system. Based on these studies,some useful design recommendations for SCC structures are put forward. In addition, the application of SCC on structure strengthening of one 33-storey tall building is introduced.
