Abstract:

This paper is intended to be a review of the recent situation and advances in the studies of mineral fast ion conductors and mineral solid electrolyte batteries. The reviews involve the following parts: The definition of both mineral fast ion conductor and mineral solid electrolyte battery; Comments on mineral fast ion conductors: Describe some very useful starting mineral materials for the preparation of mineral fast ion conductors, like montmorillonite, pyrophyllite, and kaolinite etc. Some important preparative methods for mineral fast ion conductors were introduced. The characterizations of mineral fast ion conductors: structure measurement, phase identification, ionic conductivity and electrochemical stability etc. also were described; Comments on mineral solid electrolyte batteries: The assembly for both of primary mineral solid electrolyte battery and secondary (rechargeable) mineral solid electrolyte battery was introduced. The concerned parameters of mineral solid electrolyte batteries were reported.
