Abstract:
We demonstrate a multi-focal-plane see-through near-eye display with effective focus cues enabled by wavelength multiplexing. A spectral notch filter is implemented as the wavelength-sensitive depth separation element. The vergence-accommodation conflict can be mitigated with the proposed design without space- or time-multiplexing. Another design of a dual-focus projection module for the waveguide-type augmented reality devices using wavelength-multiplexing is also presented. © 2019 Optical Society of America under the terms of the OSA Open Access Publishing Agreement
