Abstract:
Grafted cellulose was used as carrier for preparing cellulose supported zero-valent iron adsorbents (ZVI-SCB) by aqueous reducing technique. The ZVI-SCB was characterized by XRD and ESEM. The removal of trichloromethane (TCM) by ZVI-SCB was investigated under different conditions, i.e., catalyst kinds, ZVI-SCB dosage, initial concentration of trichlormethane (TCM), pH value and concentration of chloridion. When dosage of ZVI-SCB was 5g/L, the initial concentration of TCM was 36.7 mg/L and the solution pH was 3.1, the removal percentage of TCM reached 84.4%. In addition, the obtained data were modeled using pseudo-first-order equation and second-order equation. The correlation coefficient R of pseudo-second-order equation was 0.996~0.999, indicating that the better fit of experimental data was obtained by means of the pseudo-second-order model.
