Abstract:
Through the L9(34) orthogonal experiment, the effects of ethylene-octene copolymer(8003 resign)as elastomer, ethylene acrylic acid copolymer (EAA) as solubilizer, talc and glycerin as plasticizer on the mechanical properties of starch/ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) composite foamed materials, were studied. The structure of starch/EVA composite foamed materials was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results show that talc and 8003 resin have the remarkable influence on the tensile strength, elongation and elastic property of the composite foamed materials. The starch/EVA composite foamed materials have the best comprehensive mechanical properties when being blended with 20 phr 8003 resin, 30 phr EAA, 0 phr talc and 8 phr glycerin. The results of XRD and SEM show that the compatibility of starch and EVA can be highly improved with the addition of EAA.
