Abstract：

A　novel　nontoxic　g-C3N4/WO3　composite　photocatalyst　with　an　increased　surface　area　but　a　reduced　defect　concentration　was　synthesized,　which　shows　an　excellent　catalytic　performance　under　visible　light　irradiation.　©　2013　The　Royal　Society　of　Chemistry.
