Abstract:

We propose a scheme for generating a four-dimensional entanglement between two atoms trapped in two separate cavities connected by an optical fiber. Based on quantum Zeno dynamics, the entangled state is obtained only in one step. We also numerically investigate the influence of photon leakage and atomic spontaneous emission on the fidelity of the entangled state. The result shows that our scheme is robust against the cavity decay and very promising for realization with current experimental technology. © 2011 IOP Publishing Ltd.
