Abstract:
In view of different distribution of zero state vectors resulting in various switching waveforms in space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM), the distribution of zero state vectors is analyzed in details by introducing a distribution factor, and the principle why SVPWM embodies discontinuous and continuous PWM methods is revealed. The calculations of switching points are discussed with different switching sequences in each sector. The general calculation equations are given by taking the distribution factor as a variable. The relation between the total harmonic distortion (THD) of inverter output voltage and distribution factor as well as the switching waveforms of SVPWM are simulated and analyzed. Simulation results show that the distribution factor has a significant impact on the characteristics of SVPWM and verify the validity of analysis.
