Abstract:

The strength and flexural stiffness of CFST columns will decrease significantly after exposure to fire. In order to ensure its seismic performance, it is necessary to repair the damaged columns. In this paper, the cyclic static test has been carried out for concrete-filled square hollow section (SHS) columns strengthened by concrete-filled steel tubes after exposure to fire. Based on the experiment, the structure performance of columns are compared and analyzed. The test results indicate that strengthening using concrete-filled steel tubes is an extremely effective method and that the strength and flexural stiffness of the repaired columns can be restored to its previous condition.
