Abstract:
Tests on the deformation behavior of two concrete-filled double skin (CHS inner and CHS outer) steel tubular columns subjected to long-term sustained loads are performed. Based on the creep and shrinkage model of the concrete under sustained loads proposed in ACT 209 (1992), the calculations of the deformation of concrete-filled double skin steel tubular columns are presented. The calculated results show good agreement with the test ones. Influences of several parameters, such as loading age(τ0), sustained time (T), nominal steel ratio (αn), sustained loads level (n), steel strength (fyo, fyi), inner steel thickness (ti), concrete strength (fcu) and hollow ratio (χ) on the shrinkage and creep of the columns are analyzed.
