Abstract:
Through the push-out tests, the static behavior of the headed stud connector with the diameter of 22 mm was investigated. Totally 8 specimens were designed to study the effect of a number of parameters on the static behavior of stud connector. These were the compressive strength of concrete, the number and the position of stud connector. The results indicated that the cracking and crash failure occurred in the stud connector with more than 4 studs, and studs occurred shear failure in the stud connector with less than 4 studs. The load-carrying capacity values from the testing are larger than that from design codes. Based on the testing results, the formula of load-slip relationship for stud connector was proposed. It can predict the linear and nonlinear behavior of the stud connector. It helps to the design and numerical calculation for stud connector and composite beam.
