Abstract:

The preparation technique and mechanical properties of TiC matrix composites reinforced with 20 vol% short carbon fiber were studied. The carbon fibers were uniformly distributed in TiC matrix using wet ball-milling mixing. Carbon fiber addition significantly increased the strength and fracture toughness of TiC.
