Abstract:

A new dynamic model of the cam-follower system at high speed is developed, in which both the longitudinal oscillation and transverse vibration of the push-rod are considered. The equations of motion of the push-rod and critical frequency determinant are derived to determine the transition curves seperating stability from instability. The experiment has been carried out to justify the validity of theoretical analysis.
