Abstract:

This paper presents a novel step-up inverter with wide range varied input DC voltage, and the associated two mode control strategy, which can effectively regulate real and reactive output power. The circuit topology, control strategy, and external characteristic are deeply analyzed. The circuit topology is constituted of n T networks and full-bridge inverter, and the T network can adopt Buck-Boost DC converter or quasi-z source network to boost the input voltage. By using the saturation point and zero point as the control mode shifting points, the two modes achieve smooth transition. Experimental results from a 500VA 96-200VDC/220V50Hz AC inverter prototype show that the proposed inverter has the advantages of bidirectional power flow, boost capacity, high overall conversion efficiency and high quality of output waveform, which can be widely used in the step-up inversion with wide range varied input DC voltage. © 2019 IEEE.
