Abstract:

Accurate acquisition of steering load is one of the foundations for high-performance researching of all-terrain heavy vehicles steering systems because of complex load conditions. In particular, online real-time acquisition of steering load of each wheel is favorable for high-performance control of the complete vehicle. This paper proposes a new online real-time test method for dual side wheel steering load based on steering system mathematical model and tie rod force characteristics. It's only needed to introduce the tie rod force in real time to obtain the dual side steering load. Meanwhile, the proposed method based on LabVIEW with the function of visualized steering load test and analysis is effectively verified by the dual wheel steering load test bench. The method is easy to implement and able to provide accurate load data in actual heavy vehicle, which is helpful for the optimization design of the system for high-performance electro-hydraulic control steering system. © 2019 IEEE.
