Abstract:

As progress of the digital communication technology, we can apply the communication system to remote monitoring of structure at distant site. This paper shows some application of various data communication for bridge monitoring. The communication methods include the wireless LAN system and the cellular phone system. These systems introduced to data monitoring of construction site at distant area for obtaining the static data such as strain or load, the dynamic data such as vibration, and site-image by using Internet WEB camera. Also, the developed monitoring system by using cellular phone display, are introduced on this paper. Developing effective structural maintenances such as evaluating structural condition, detecting damages, and repairing are present subjects to be treated. Bridge remote monitoring system focused on data transmission, based on past researches and developments is described.
