Abstract:
The influence of rise-to-span ratio, y-value and arch rib spacing on the in-plane and out-of-plane critical flexure load and critical axial force of arch rib were studied by employing an existing steel arch bridge. The results show that, due to the different assumptions in multinational criteria, the parameters have different impact on the in-plane and out-of-plane critical flexure load and critical axial force. Moreover, the comparison analysis with FE results reveals that the Chinese code and Japanese code are relatively accurate for in-plane and out-of-plane critical loads, respectively.
