As the development of wireless network and 3rd generation communication, location based service will have broad application prospects. At the same time, since the screen of mobile terminal is small and resolution is slow, the methods of desktop cartographic visualization can not be directly copied to mobile. Therefore, a mobile cartographic visualization strategy based on cache of CGML is proposed. In the strategy, firstly, the basic and extended query frames are generated in the center of terminal's position. And then, the cartographic data received in the basic query frame is visualized, and the extended query frame data is built into CGML file that is cached in the terminal. Finally, the cached CGML file is used to follow-up operations of cartography. © 2010 IEEE.
