Abstract：
A study was performed on a scheme, generating multiatom-entangled states and two-qubit quantum phase gates with a thermal cavity. It was observed that in the scheme the detuning between the atoms and the cavity was equal to the atom-cavity coupling strength. It was also shown that the gates operated at a high speed, which was important for decoherence.
