Abstract:

A study was conducted focusing on the surface energy of mineral powder. In particular, the surface energies of mineral powders were measured, the adhesive work and the interface tension between silicone rubber matrix and mineral filler were calculated. It was found that the adhesive work/interface tension is an important parameter to determine the mechanical properties of silicone rubber-mineral filler composite materials.
