Abstract:

A new catalytic fluorescence rate method for the determination of trace amount of Ag( I ) has been developed. The method is based on the oxidation of fluorescein with potassium persulfate in the presence of a,a′-bipyridyl as an activator and Triton X - 100 as a sensitizer. The limit of detection for Ag is 1. 76 × 10-3 mg/L. The linear range of determination is 2. 0 × 10-3∼3. 2 × 10-2 mg/L Ag.
