Abstract:

The low power consumption is one of the critical features of the integrated circuit (IC) quality. The power optimization has become indispensable research in modern very large scale integration (VLSI) design. Nowadays, some studies are carried out in achieving lower power. The design of voltage island is an efficient way to reach the goal. In this paper, the authors have proposed a novel optimization approach based on the Salp Swarm Algorithm for multiple voltage islands generations at the post-floorplanning. We call this method 'SSA-MSV'. Furthermore, experiment analysis and results show that the SSA has high exploration and local optima avoidance. The new SSA we proposed has excellent potential in solving the voltage island distribution problem. © 2019 IEEE.
