Abstract:
This paper applies the cluster analysis method to categorize the 17 sample companies in a high-tech park in terms of their workshop area. First of all, the annual freight traffic volume per unit workshop area has been used as the index to cluster the 17 sample companies into 4 groups. The results show that each group of companies produces the similar products. Secondly, the workshop area or site area of a company correlates well with its annually generated freight traffic. The regression analysis shows a linear correlation between the workshop area (or site area) of the company and its annual freight traffic volume. These models can be applied to predict the freight traffic volume for the planning high-tech park. © 2009 ASCE.
