Abstract:
In this paper, a speed-adaptive full-order flux observer for sensorless vector control of doubly-fed induction generators (DFIGs) is proposed. The observer is a simulation of the full-order electrical model of DFIGs with feedback of the rotor current estimation error and a speed adaptation loop. The observer gains are selected based on a stability analysis and validated by the linearized closed-loop observer model. Simulation results demonstrate desired steady-state and dynamic performance of this sensorless control approach for DFIG-based variable speed wind turbines. ©2009 IEEE.
