Abstract:
Lath-like PbWO4 has been synthesized via precipitation method by using a template of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). The prepared products were characterized with X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermal analysis, infrared spectroscopy (IR) and photoluminescence spectrum. The results show that crystal structure of as-prepared PbWO4 changes from tetragonal phase to monoclinic phase, and its morphologies vary from turricula to final lath-like structure when prolonging the aging time. This phase transfer leads to the increase of IR intensity at 571 cm-1, while has little influence on thermal stability. The fluorescence emission spectra of PbWO4 with different aging time are nearly the same, and all exhibit a strong blue emission peak at 378 nm.
