Abstract:

As continuing development of information communication technology, libraries are experiencing a transformation from a book-centered to a user-centered place that leads to users’ activities becoming more diversified. Consequently, the library interior space changes from simple to diverse; from close to open. It emphasizes more the possibilities of space adaptability, flexibility and replacement. Under the conception of “user-centered approach”, the library design has to reveal affinity, exchange and atmosphere characteristics. This article employs the new library interior space of Yangtze University as case study to further interpret spatial design under the concern of changing activities from users. © 2015 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
