Abstract:

Now activated carbon has been used greatly in all walks of life, thus the regeneration of spent activated carbon is of great significance. The advantages and disadvantages of the regeneration methods of the spent activated carbon are introduced and discussed in this paper, mainly including thermal regeneration, chemical regeneration, electrochemical regeneration, microwave radiation regeneration, wet air oxidation and supercritical fluid regeneration etc. Then a new recycling method of the spent activated carbon is proposed. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
