Abstract:
Considering the difficulty of vibrating of whole furnace made by refractory material, a new type of vibrated fluidized bed furnace with the characteristic of only distributor vibrating was developed, and the fluidized calcination of fine powders (mean particle size is 25.8 μm) kaolinite in coal was realized in this kind vibrated fluidized bed experimental furnace with 35 mm in diameter. The comparative tests of the fine powder kaolinite in coal sample were introduced by using three methods: static calcination, convential fluidization calcination and vibrated fluidization calcination. It is shown that fluidization calcination is obviously superior to static calcination and vibrated fluidization is an efficient process in eliminating the clusters of fine powders, improving the fluidization quality and shortening the firing time. In 900°C, an appropriate temperature for calcination of kaolinite in coal, the optimum operation conditions are obtained that gas velocity is 7 cm/s, vibrating frequency is 25 Hz.
