Abstract：
Based on IEC 61850 standard, the technologies relating to new unconventional transformer, smart circuit breaker and merge unit in digital substation are introduced in this paper. The scheme of monitoring system and communication technology for digital substation are suggested which can meet the requirement of IEC 61850 through summarizing the existing technologies.
