Abstract:
A network based desktop virtual reality (VR) system is proposed, including the system design architecture and its implementation methods. By using the OpenGL and VC++, the system is successfully developed for explosive disposal training and teaching. The assembly module makes the user free from the complex geometric modeling. In addition, the security management separates sensitive data from non-EOD personnel. And the adaptive strategy of sharing node's state synchronization and congestion control for multi-modes training is also given. Compared with the existing VR systems, the proposed scheme offers an affordable virtual simulation environment with low cost for similar teaching and training application. © 2012 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
