Abstract:

In this work, SnO 2 nanowires have been synthesized and the field emission characteristics of SnO 2 nanowires are investigated in detail. The results show that when current density reaches to 1 μA/cm 2, electric field is 1.3 V/μm. The current density dramatically jumps to 1.3 mA/cm 2 at the applied field of 2.1 V/μm, and its luminous intensity is 1850 cd/m 2. This shows that SnO 2 nanowires hold promise for field emission display application. And its emission stability will be further improved in the near future. © 2012 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
