Abstract:
In order to assess residual behavior of concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) members after high temperature, especially residual bearing capacity of CFST members subjected to biaxial force and bending, 14 rectangular CFST specimens are subjected to biaxial eccentric compression in this paper. Some parameters, i.e., strength of steel and concrete, fire duration, confining coefficient, slenderness ratio, eccentric ratio, height-to-width ratio, and steel content, are discussed by numerical analysis. The analytical results show that fire duration, slenderness ratio and height-to-width ratio are the main factors influencing on residual behavior. On basis of numerical analysis and experimental results, a simplified formula is proposed to forecast the reduction coefficient of residual bearing capacity for rectangular CFST members after high temperature subjected to biaxial force and bending. The forecasting values are compared with those of experimental and numerical analysis results finally. The results show that a good agreement is in the proposed formula values and experimental results as well as numerical analysis ones.
