Abstract:
The CCTO (CaCu3Ti4O12) dielectric ceramics were prepared by the solid state reaction method. Stoichiometric amount of powders were mixed in distilling water by ball milling with zirconia media for 12 hours and after drying, the mixed powders were calcined in air at 950°C for 2 hours. The calcined powders were milled again, and 5 wt% PVA was added and pressed into disks, that were sintered at a higher temperature range of 1100°C to 1150°C and cooled to room temperature in the furnace. The crystalline phases of the samples were identified by Powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, and microstructure of ceramics were carried out in a scanning electron microscope. The dielectric properties and impedance analysis of the ceramics were determined using the precision LCR meter. The results show that oxygen in CCTO is easier to lose in sintering, leading to lower resistivity and larger permittivity of the grains.
