Abstract:

Composite shear walls are currently being used in the construction of tall building. They can give full play to the advantages of steel and concrete and have better dynamic behavior, such as ductility and ability of dissipating energy than the traditional reinforced concrete shear wall. So they have great advantage to be used in steel-concrete hybrid structures. This paper briefly introduces some new kinds of composite shear walls and does a state of the art review of them. Key issues are discussed in the research of their dynamic behavior.
