Abstract:

Artificial factors inducing ecological degradation in Tibet and it's spatial effects are studied applying canonical correlations analysis and Geographical information system (GIS) spatial analysis techniques. Population was the main artificial factor of ecosystem degenerated in Tibet, while ecological effect of construction investment was relatively complex. The ecological degradation in northwest of Tibet was induced mainly by natural factor. The artificial factor in the middle area of Brahmaputra, Lhasa River and Nianchu River induced relatively strong ecological degradation action. The ecological degradation was induced obviously by artificial factor in the east of Tibet. The artificial disturbance in southeast of Tibet was not great.
