Abstract:

The chromium in industrial wastewater could be removed with the scrap-iron fixed bed reactor. The metal was removed through electrochemical reaction, with scrap-iron electric enrichment for flocculate, catalyst function and coagulation of cell reacting products. Flocculate adsorbed and filtrated the bed layer. Results showed that the optimum technical condition was as follows: pH = 6.0-6.5, HRT = 7 h, continuous aeration, with the amount of 0.2 L/min. Chromium wastewater treatment through scrap-iron fixed bed operated steadily, and the removal rate was high, so the effluent can reach the discharge standard of China.
