Abstract:
The synthesis of a new type of solid superacid material with highly ordered mesoporous structures was analyzed and its use as photocatalysts was investigated. The material was obtained by reacting a cubic mesoporous amorphous-TiO2 film with sulfuric acid at high temperatures. The strength of the acidic sites was also measured using the Hammett indicator method. The results indicate that an increase in either the electron-hole-pair lifetime or the interfacial charge-transfer rate results in high quantum efficiencies.
