Abstract:

In our previous study, we introduced the concept of electromagnetic kurtosis and incorporated it into the electromagnetic time-reversal process for source reconstruction. In this article, we extend the idea and propose the space and time kurtoses methods. The temporal distribution of the space kurtosis identifies the source excitation time instant, while the spatial distribution of the time kurtosis reconstructs the location of the source. By introducing the threshold, we can then localize multiple asynchronous sources with time kurtosis directly. Numerical experiments are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the presented methods. © 1963-2012 IEEE.
