Abstract:
A total of 6 concrete-filled new S35657 austenitic stainless steel tubular(CFSST)beams were prepared for pure bending test,to evaluate the influence of concrete type and cross-sectional shape on the failure mode,load-deformation relationship, flexural stiffness and resistance of CFSST specimens. The test results show that concrete made with waste materials has minor influence on the failure modes, but it has positive effect in improving the flexural stiffness and strength of new CFSST beams. A finite element (FE) model was then established to verify the feasibility and accuracy of current concrete and stainless steel models for further FE analysis. At last, the feasibility and accuracy of current design guidelines for predicting the flexural capacity were also analyzed. © 2024 Tongji University. All rights reserved.
