Abstract:
The complex stress conditions and disturbed environment are important factors affecting the safe exploitation of deep mining resources. This paper designed experiments on multi-level cyclic loading pre-damaged granite under different confining pressures, as well as experiments on the uniaxial recompression of pre-damaged granite. The results indicate that the mechanical properties of granite exhibit significant differences under low and high confining pressures. When the number of cycles is fixed, with increasing confining pressure, the axial peak strain displays a trend of increasing-decreasing-increasing. In the process of uniaxial re-compression, the crack pattern of natural granite is tensile-tensile-tensile-shear, while the crack pattern of damaged granite under low confining pressures (10, 30 MPa) is tensile-tensile-tensile-tensile, which exhibits significant differences under high confining pressures (50, 80 MPa). When the CV(r) value of natural granite exceeds 1.2, it will failure. However, for pre-damaged granite under low confining pressures of 10 or 30 MPa, a CV(r) value greater than 0.25 can be used as a criterion to determine whether the damaged granite has failed. In contrast, for pre-damaged granite under high confining pressures of 50 or 80 MPa, both the CV(r) value and the b-value need to be considered to determine its failure. © 2025
