Abstract:

A (3+2)-cycloaddition of N-amino quinolinium salts with in situ generated trifluoroacetonitrile is disclosed. The reaction affords access to structurally diverse 2-(trifluoromethyl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]quinoline derivatives in good yields, utilizing 2,2,2-trifluoroacetaldehyde O-(aryl)oxime as precursor of trifluoroacetonitrile.
