Abstract:

The steel shell-concrete arch pylon is subjected to complex forces, which resulted in many problems such as excessive deformation and stresses during construction process. In order to ensure the internal force state and the geometry state of steel shell-concrete arch pylon, the stresses and deformation of arch pylon under construction and its support system are investigated by different finite element models. The analysis results show that the arc axis of pylon has a great influence on structural behaviour of pylon column; the construction process of arch pylon should not be ignored for simulation; the deformation of arch pylon column and the tensile stress of concrete infill are very sensitive to wind pressure. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.
