Abstract:
This study investigates the coupling and amplification characteristics of Rogowski coils for arc high-frequency signals based on magnetic-coupling resonance principles. First, a high-frequency distributed parameter model of the Rogowski coil is established with its transfer function derived, while analyzing the influence of key parameters (sampling resistor, coil turns, etc.) on sensor performance. A bandwidth test platform is constructed to measure the output characteristics of four sets of Rogowski coil sensors. In fault tests with four typical load types, the Rogowski coil not only effectively filters out low-frequency current signals but also couples and amplifies characteristic frequency-band signals of fault arc currents, providing a new technical pathway for arc fault protection. © 2025 SPIE.
