Upconversion Luminescence and Photothermal Properties of Composite Films Based on NaGdF4∶Er3+/Yb3+/Al3+ EI

Abstract :

Rare earth-doped upconversion nanomaterials have wide application prospects in photothermal sensing,biomedicine and so on,but it has poor thermal conductivity,low temperature measurement sensitivity and upconver⁃ sion luminescence(UCL)intensity. It’s an effective way to improve their UCL intensity and photothermal perfor⁃ mance by assembling composite films which contain single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNT),noble metal and pho⁃ tonic crystals(PCs). In this work,NaGdF4∶Er3+/Yb3+/Al3+ nanocrystalls(UCNPs)were synthesized by the solvother⁃ mal method. The photothermal performance of upconversion layer(UC),SWCNT/UC,Ag/SWCNT/UC and PCs/Ag/ SWCNT/UC were compared,and the effects of different film layers on the photothermal performance of UCNPs were studied. The results indicate that PCs/Ag/SWCNT/UC has the best performance,and compared with the UC film,the enhancement factors of red and green emission intensities are 3. 48 and 4. 24 times,respectively. Its photothermal conversion efficiency is 33. 79%,which is 1. 49 times of UC’s. The absolute sensitivity(SA)of the optical tempera⁃ ture measurement is obtained as 3. 14×10−3 K−1 at 353 K and the relative sensitivity(SR)is obtained as 1. 87×10−2 K−1 at 273 K. The work provides an effective way to improve the performance of the photothermal sensor. © 2025 Editorial Office of Chinese Optics. All rights reserved.

损失自适应的高感知质量生成对抗超分辨率网络

Abstract :

为解决生成对抗网络训练过程中因损失简单加权导致的图像感知质量下降问题,提出损失自适应调整的生成对抗超分辨率网络(LA-GAN).首先,该方法设计通过计算角点分布的相关强度大小,区分规则纹理区域与不规则纹理区域.其次,基于不同区域,设计了区域自适应生成对抗学习框架.在该框架中,网络只在不规则纹理区域中进行对抗学习,提高感知质量.此外,基于下采样图像和图像块相似性的重组图像取代训练集中的高分辨率图像,实现平均绝对损失在不规则纹理区域弱约束网络,在规则纹理区域强约束网络,保证图像信号保真度.最后,通过实验证明经过优化的网络在信号保真度和感知质量方面皆有提升.

Ultracompact and Polarization-Independent On-Chip Mode Exchangers Enabled by Subwavelength Grating Metamaterials SCIE

Abstract :

Different from conventional mode-order converters, the mode exchangers (EXCij), enabling flexible data exchanging between i-th-mode and j-th-mode, are essential building blocks for passive signal switching, signal routing, and high-capacity mode division multiplexing (MDM) networks. However, mode changers are limited by the strong polarization-dependence, especially on the 220-nm-thick silicon-on-insulator (SOI) platform. In this paper, an ultracompact and polarization-independent EXC01 and EXC02 are proposed to overcome this limitation by using MZI-like models. Here, subwavelength grating (SWG) metamaterials are introduced to the input/output Y-branches for mode splitting/combining and one arm for phase shifting. As such, a pi phase difference is formed by the SWG-manipulated phase shifter and then the modes guided in branches are combined into the required output modes. The characterizations show low insertion losses (<1.6 dB) and crosstalk (<-15 dB) over bandwidths of 31 nm and 49 nm, for EXC01 and EXC02, respectively. For footprints, EXC01/EXC02 has ultracompact size of 13.42 x 1.704/2.044 x 8.434 mu m(2). For the first time, a polarization-independent mode change between 0-th-mode (0-th-mode) and 1-th-mode (2-th-mode) are achieved and can be applied in in flexible MDM systems, signal routing, passive signal switching and beyond.

Abstract :

稀土掺杂的上转换纳米材料在光热传感、生物医学等领域有着广泛的应用前景,但其存在导热性差、测温灵敏度与上转换发光(UCL)强度低的问题,而添加单壁碳纳米管(SWCNT)、贵金属与光子晶体(PCs)是提高其UCL强度与光热性能的有效手段.本文使用溶剂热法合成了NaGdF4∶Er3+/Yb3+/Al3+纳米晶体(UCNPs),通过对比上转换层(UC)、SWCNT/UC、Ag/SWCNT/UC与PCs/Ag/SWCNT/UC的光热性能,研究不同膜层对UCNPs的光热性能影响.结果表明,PCs/Ag/SWCNT/UC具有优异的性能,其红绿光强度分别为UC的3.48倍与4.24倍,其光热转换效率达到33.79%,是UC的1.49倍;并且光学测温绝对灵敏度SA在353 K时达到3.14×10-3 K-1,相对灵敏度SR在273 K时达到1.87×10-2 K-1.本研究为提高光热传感器性能提供了一种有效的策略.

Stable and Efficient Indoor Photovoltaics Through Novel Dual-Phase 2D Perovskite Heterostructures SCIE

Abstract :

2D perovskite materials are ideal candidates for indoor photovoltaic (IPV) applications due to their tunable bandgap, high absorption coefficients, and enhanced stability. However, attaining uniform crystallization and overcoming low carrier mobility remain key challenges for 2D perovskites, limiting their overall performance. In this study, a 2D perovskite light-absorbing layer is constructed using a Dion-Jacobson (DJ)-phase EDA(FA)(4)Pb5I16 (n = 5) and introduced butylammonium iodide (BAI) for interface modification, thereby creating a novel DJ/Ruddlesden-Popper (RP) dual 2D perovskite heterostructure. By adjusting the thickness of the BAI-based perovskite layer, the relationship between interfacial defect states and carrier mobility is investigated under varying indoor light intensities. The results indicate that, by achieving a balance between interfacial defect passivation and carrier transport, the optimized 2D perovskite device reaches a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 30.30% and an open-circuit voltage (V-OC) of 936 mV under 1000 lux (3000 K LED). 2D-DJ/RP perovskite IPV exhibits a twentyfold increase in T-90 lifetime compared to 3D perovskite devices. It is the first time to systematically study 2D perovskites in IPV applications, demonstrating that rationally designed and optimized 2D perovskites hold significant potential for fabricating high-performance indoor PSCs.

Binary information enhancement network for efficient steel defects detection and classification SCIE

Abstract :

Defect detection plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and longevity of structures, with defect region classification particularly beneficial for focusing efforts on potential defect areas. Traditional deep convolutional neural networks (DCNNs) based defect classification networks still have a high number of parameters and computational demands, making them unsuitable for embedded systems. This paper proposes the Adaptive Prior Activation-Based Binary Information Enhancement Network (AOIE-Net), which significantly reduces computational requirements by binarizing weights and activations. Specifically designed for steel defect detection, AOIE-Net optimizes the binary quantization process and enhances feature representation to improve the performance of BNNs in steel defect detection tasks. AOIE-Net introduces a Dual Batch Normalization-based Information Enhancement Block (DBN-IEB) and an Adaptive Binary Activation Independent Optimization (ABA-IO) method to reduce computational complexity while boosting classification accuracy. Experimental results demonstrate that AOIE-Net outperforms state-of-the-art binary neural network models on CIFAR-10, ImageNet, and the NEU-CLS steel defect dataset, achieving classification accuracy of 90.6%, 72.1%, and 99.4%, respectively. The proposed method offers an efficient, low-complexity solution for real-time defect classification in large-scale structural inspections and holds significant potential for practical applications.

Abstract :

Zinc oxide (ZnO) is used as an electron transport layer (ETL) in inverted organic solar cells (IOSCs) owing to its excellent performance, such as good light transmission and high conductivity, while its surface defects and photocatalytic properties limit the development of IOSCs. Herein, we apply an antioxidant, syringic acid (SA), to modify the surface of ZnO film, which observably improve the efficiency and stability of IOSCs. It is found that SA can effectively passivate the surface defects of ZnO and optimize surface morphology, as well as reduce the work function (WF) of ZnO resulting in an improvement of the charge transport of IOSCs. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of PM6:Y6-based IOSCs is increased from 16.19 % to 18.18 %, it is the highest PCE values of the single-junction IOSCs based on PM6:Y6 system as reported. Meanwhile, the photostability of the device is markedly improved due to SA could suppress the photocatalytic of ZnO under the ultraviolet aging.

Enhancing rate performance in lithium-sulfur batteries via synergistic bidirectional catalysis and improved conductivity SCIE

Abstract :

The commercial application of flexible lithium-sulfur batteries is severely hindered by poor conductivity, low active material loading, polysulfide shuttle effects, and sluggish redox kinetics. Herein, we developed a unique three-dimensional (3D) conductive network framework decorated with NiCo bimetallic particles. The 3D porous carbon conductive network skeleton formed by crosslinked carbon nanotubes effectively mitigates the volume expansion of sulfur and accommodates abundant active materials for high discharge capacity. Meanwhile, the NiCo bimetallic combines the catalytic role of Ni in sulfur reduction and Co in sulfur oxidation to achieve improved kinetics of the entire conversion of sulfur. Most importantly, the sulfur host synergizes the conducting CNTs and catalytically active bimetallic, increasing conductance and accelerating reaction kinetics, resulting in a significant improvement in rate performance. Consequently, the cells equipped with NiCo@CNT-S cathode exhibit a low-capacity decay rate of only 0.07% per cycle over 400 cycles at 1C, and an ultra-high initial specific capacity of 1030 mAh g- 1 at a high rate of 5C. Notably, the pouch cell assembled with the NiCo@CNT-S could deliver a high areal discharge capacity of 8.2 mAh cm- 2 at 0.1C, with a sulfur loading of 7.1 mg cm-2 and an E/S ratio of 7.1 mu L mg-1. This work provides novel structural design and mechanism insights for the practical application of flexible lithium-sulfur batteries.

Dual-Band Topological Valley Cavity in Mid-Infrared Range EI

Abstract :

Topological edge states, emerging at boundaries between regions with distinct topological properties, enable unidirectional transmission with robustness against defects and disorder. However, achieving dual-band operation with high performance remains challenging. Here, we integrate dual-band topological edge states into a valley photonic crystal cavity operating in the mid-infrared region, leveraging triangular scatterers. A key contribution of this work is the simultaneous realization of ultra-high Q-factors (up to 6.1593 × 109) and uniform mode distribution (inverse participation ratio © 2025 by the authors.
